Please Read Carefully and Thoroughly!

A) METHODS
The first shot we take will be with a crossbow or a compound bow, your choice. We
prefer the crossbow due to its accuracy. Most of our trophy gators taken in 2008
have been shot with the crossbow.  A second line will be shot to the gator when he is
pulled up. Once the gator is secured beside the boat he will be dispatched with a
pistol.  If we can not get close enough to take a shot with the crossbow, Brad with try
and hook the alligator with a treble hook on a fishing pole. Once the gator is hooked
and brought to the surface, you will be able to take a shot!

B) EQUIPMENT
We advise all of our hunters to use the equipment that we provide.  Our bows are very accurate and have been
designed specifically for gator hunting.  If you have a bow or crossbow that you would prefer to use, we can attach our
“Gator-Aider” to it.  The
"Gator Aider” is also available for purchase.

C) TIME
The hunt will typically begin between 8 and 9pm at your starting location which will be determined once we know your
hunt zone.  We advise our hunters if possible to choose  either a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, due to
the fact that there will be few to no other hunters  during the week and will greatly enhance our success.  If the
weekend is the only available time for you to hunt, please remember that there are limited dates due to the short
hunting season, and you should let us know asap.

Your guide and crew are committed to ensuring a successful hunt, and are willing to put in long hours to do so.  If you
would like to kill an alligator in one night you should be willing to put in as much time as needed, especially if you are
looking for a trophy animal.  Remember that a 10+ foot gator will weigh anywhere between 500 - 800lbs, and will most
likely take several hours to secure and dispatch after the initial shot. Several of our 2008 hunts went into the hours of
the next morning. Therefore if you have time restrictions, please let us know in advance; otherwise be prepared for a
long night!

D) ZONES & SIZE
If you are interested in killing a trophy animal we suggest that you make the Middle Coastal and Midlands zones your
first and second choice on your tag application (in whatever order you decide).  These are the most popular zones
and will be harder to draw a tag in one year.

If you have no size requirement and would like to draw a tag quickly, we suggest that you put in for the Upper Coastal
and Lower coastal zones first on your tag application as they are less popular and therefore easier to draw in.

If you are strictly hunting for meat, the best size animal is anywhere between 4 ft and 8ft.

On your application you will be asked to rank your choices 1-4.  The more choices you list, the better your chances for
drawing a tag will be.

All zones contain a large number of gators and all do contain some large size gators, but the size concentrations vary
in each zone.  If you have more questions about this, please give us a call or email us.

E) DANGER
The alligators in South Carolina are 100% wild animals and have the potential to do harm to the equipment and you.
In 2008 not one hunter incurred any harm, not even a scratch, and we would like to keep it that way in 2009.
Following the instructions of your captain and crew will greatly aid in your safety.  Absolutely no drugs or alcohol are
allowed before your hunt or on the boat during the hunt.  If your captain/guide feels that these rules have been
broken, he has the right to terminate the hunt at that time.

Alligator hunting is not for everyone.  While it is an incredible experience for a hunter, it is usually a first experience
with alligators and in some cases panic may set in.  Because of all the hunting equipment and firearms onboard, if we
feel that you are endangering others onboard the hunt will be terminated immediately.

F) PARTICIPATION
After the hunter takes the first shot at their animal, participation in the remaining hunting process is strictly a personal
choice.  This will include pulling the gator in, noosing him, dispatching with a pistol, taping mouth shut, securing to
boat, and tagging the tail.   You may choose to participate in any or all of the procedures previously listed.  If you do
choose to participate, your guide will give you detailed instructions on what to do and when to do it.  There will always
be someone, your guide or crew member, next to you to aid in the process.  Just let us know what you are comfortable
with beforehand.

G) CLOTHING AND WHAT TO BRING
We suggest that you where dark clothing which may get wet or muddy.  It is best to bring a change of clothes.  Nights
on the water can be warm in September and October, but are usually chilly to cold.  Please bring layers of clothing to
keep warm while on the water, even blankets are a good idea to bring.  There is plenty of room onboard, so please
pack a bag to bring with you.

There will be a cooler with ice onboard for everyone’s use.  We suggest that you bring drinks and snacks for you and
your guests as it could be a long night. You may want to bring a camera, however Taylor Outdoors is not responsible
for damage/loss.  We will have a camera with us and are happy to take pictures and email them for you free of
charge.  Your hunt can also be videoed and a DVD made for you for a small charge, but we need to know ahead of
time.

H) PAYMENT
A $200 deposit is required in order to book your hunt. Until we receive your payment no hunt or date will be
considered booked.  The deposit is nonrefundable if you cancel your hunt for any reason other than a hurricane.  If
there is severe weather your hunt will be rescheduled for the next available date to which the deposit will be
transferred.

If you are prebooking a hunt (before the application draw) your deposit is refundable ONLY IF YOU DO NOT DRAW A
TAG (which is public information). If you do not draw a tag you may choose to transfer your deposit to the following
year.

The remaining balance of the base rate, $150, is due before or at the start of your hunt. Cash or check only.  If you
are paying by check we would prefer you send it to us before your hunt.  The kill fee and trophy fee will be determined
at the end of your hunt and must be paid before your gator is loaded into a vehicle.

J) PROCESSING AND TAXIDERMY
Taylor Outdoors is not a processor and processing is not included in the price of your hunt.  Arrangements with a
processor and taxidermist must be made before your hunt.  We are more than happy to help you find a processor and
taxidermist in South Carolina.  If you would like to process the animal yourself, we are happy to provide you with
detailed instruction.  Processing an alligator takes several hours and unless you are skilled in skinning and meat cuts,
a processor is well worth the money!  Please check our website for a list of processors and taxidermists.

K) NON-HUNTERS
Two non-hunters are allowed to join you on your hunt. The first non-hunter is free of charge and the second will cost
$50.  Non-hunters must be over the age of 14. All non-hunters must agree to all terms and conditions.
